Dear English-speaking guests,
Conveniently situated close to the city of Montélimar (world-wide known as the “capital of nougat”), the European Aviation Museum is one of the hidden gems of the Mid-Rhône Valley, an ideal destination for all aviation enthusiasts … and others!

Rated 2nd best attraction in the city, our museum has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Tripadvisor this year again!

The museum was founded in 1987 as a non profit-making organization dedicated to the preservation of the rich French and European aeronautical heritage for future generations. It is run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers and members and is now home to a unique collection of fighter aircraft in South-eastern France (ca. 60 aircraft including trainers, bombers, transport planes etc. and numerous models), ranging from a genuine  SV4C Stampe to the fabulous Mirage 2000 !
We have been very proud to welcome about 30 groups of English speaking visitors from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, Canada or the United States last year from April to October. We would be happy to welcome even more English-speaking guests next year. We can offer you complete guided-tours of our site in English by our experienced volunteers.

We are flexible and willing to adapt to your specific needs, in terms of schedule, visit length etc. The site is extremely conveniently located: access is very easy by road via the A7 motorway and the famous historical “Nationale 7”; cruise boats can stop a few miles away, at the port of Viviers; visitors can also arrive by train with the TGV; planes can land directly on the grass runway … a few meters away from the museum!

Buses and private cars can easily park at the entrance gate of the museum (no charge) and our hangars and outside exhibition park are wheelchair accessible. We have a special group rate, with no extra charge for the guided tour in English.  A restaurant (Air Escale) is situated a few meters away from the museum, offering delicious traditional and local cooking for up to 150 guests.

We would love to have you as our guest! Please feel free to contact us for any further details.
Yours truly,

Alain BES, President of the Montélimar Aviation Museum
